Bursaspor makes early exit from Europe |
Turkey's Bursaspor and Trabzonspor made an early exit from Europe this season by losing to their European rivals in away matches in the second leg in UEFA Europa League play-offs.
Coach Ertuğrul Sağlam's Bursaspor, otherwise known as the Green Crocodiles, was up against Dutch Eredivisie leader FC Twente at the 30,205-capacity De Grolsch Veste Stadium and lost the match 1-4 against the Dutch team. Twente advanced 5-4 on aggregate after extra time to the Europa League group stage.
The Green Crocs dominated the match until early in the second half when the Dutch team scored two goals in a single minute. The Turkish team went into Thursday's game with a commanding 3-1 advantage from the home leg a week ago, but lost to the European team 4-1.
